CTI Education Group (CTI) is a registered, private higher education institution in South Africa. In 2006, CTI formed a partnership with Midrand Graduate Institute (MGI), and today the group has CTI and MGI campuses across South Africa catering for both full-time and part-time students in the faculties of Information Technology, Commerce, Creative Arts & Communication, Psychology & Counselling and Law.
After establishing a partnership with Pearson Education, the world’s leading learning company, CTI now has the opportunity to broaden its range of courses and degrees. Pearson acquired a 100% stake in CTI in 2013 and seeks to serve the higher education market by providing educational resources: teaching and learning materials, assessment services and a range of educational solutions and tools. By securing this partnership, Pearson’s strong brand, educational resources and global reach will help leverage CTI’s strengths and transform the higher education landscape in southern Africa.
CTI’s sole objective remains the preparation of its graduates for a successful future alongside a wide spectrum of employment opportunities. Since its inception in 1979, many of its graduates have excelled in their chosen career fields and currently hold senior positions.
Through its partnerships and affiliations with Cardiff Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom, Midrand Graduate Institute and UNISA(South Africa’s largest university) and by producing its own high-quality qualifications, CTI offers and supports a wide variety of career-focused qualifications ranging from Information Technology and Business to Accounting, Marketing, Management, Graphic Design, Psychology, Tourism and Law.
Qualifications offered and supported through CTI and MGI range across four faculties
- Commerce Faculty
- Information Technology Faculty
- Creative Arts and Communication Faculty
- Law & Social Sciences Faculty
Students have the choice of studying for a South African registered CTI degree or, through CTI’s partnership with MGI, for a South African registered MGI degree at its main campus in Midrand or at any of MGI’s remote sites of delivery nationally. In the Information Technology Faculty, CTI’s unique study options make it possible for students to fast-track their IT studies and gain employment within a year.
CTI is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (No 2004/HE07/004) and accredited by the South African Council on Higher Education (CHE). This accreditation ensures that all programmes and academic services are of the highest standards and that students have comprehensive employment opportunities available to them upon completion of their studies. CTI has degree-conferring status in South Africa, thus giving students the opportunity to study towards an accredited CTI degree at any of its 12 campuses.
MGI also enjoys degree-conferring status in South Africa and, besides its main campus in Midrand, has 12 remote sites of delivery located throughout the country, making it possible for students to attend their studies full-time at any MGI campus nationwide.
CTI and MGI have both experienced solid growth over the past decade and are regarded by many as institutions of choice. They have established themselves as premium higher education institutions, delivering quality career-orientated qualifications not only to South African students, but also to a large and ever-increasing international student body.
