Q: What are the benefits of studying at CTI?

A: By joining CTI, you will:
  • A high percentage of CTI’s IT graduates are employed in the IT industry within weeks of graduating.
  • CTI Information Systems graduates are employed at the same level as university graduates, but require only one year of study and will probably have earned an additional R100 000 before their university counterparts graduate.
  • IT graduates have the option to continue studying towards a BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology degree through a UK university (in partnership with Edexcel and London School of Business and Management) at selected CTI campuses.

Q: Where do the academic staff at CTI come from and how are they selected?

A: Academic staff at CTI are recruited locally and internationally. They are selected according to stringent criteria, which ensures consistent high-quality teaching across CTI campuses and centres.

Q: At CTI can I start lectures in the middle of the year?

A: Yes you can. We have 1st and 2nd semester intakes for most qualifications. More information can be found at our website or through any of our dedicated student advisors.

Q:  How soon can I get a job with a CTI qualification?

A: CTI graduates are highly sought after – about 50% of all IT graduates in South Africa come from CTI and CTI graduates find a job, on average, within four months after graduating.

Q:  Does CTI offer bursaries for financially disadvantaged students?

A: There are a limited number of bursaries available to economically disadvantaged students who complete their Senior National Certificate and meet our entrance requirements and course selection criteria. These bursaries are awarded based on the academic merit and the individual financial circumstances of each applicant.

Q: Does CTI offer part-time courses?

A: Yes. All CTI qualifications can be done on a full- or part-time basis. Students can start on any Monday of the year when doing an IT qualification. Please visit our website for further information.

Q:  Can I do am honours degree through CTI?

A: All students that study our HND IT or HND BA Business Studies qualifications can obtain a UK Honours class Degree in their 3rd year. All students must understand that this Honours is not a South African Honours degree but that in the UK Honours degree. Students can obtain a Honours degree in 3 Years after completing their Higher National Diploma at any CTI Campus in South Africa.

Q: How many students does CTI have?

A: CTI currently have around 5600 enrolled students for the 2009 academic year. Classes are limited to not more than 35 students, which is great benefit to students.

Q: Should I want to study in the UK, can I arrange this through CTI?

A: Yes. CTI has academic partnerships with the London School of Business and Management, Regents Business College, Edexcel and the University of Greenwich.

Q: Does CTI offer on-campus accommodation?

A: No. Should a student need assistance with accommodation, a CTI student advisor will assist with finding suitable accommodation.

Q: Can I pay in instalments?

A: Yes. Students have the option of paying 50% of the course fee and the other 50% over 10 months
